Carla's Cookie Box

We were able to get these delicious and mouth watering goodness in the form of pecan butter tarts at the pop up market at the David Pecaut Square, near the Metro Hall. I got the pecan but they also had salted caramel, Nutella flavours. 6 for $20. Pretty good price for tarts these delicious! I’ve eaten my fare share of butter tarts all over the country and I must say these tarts are up there in the delish metre. I could taste the butter in every bite, the crust is thin enough to ensure the filling is the star of the show, the gooeyness is perfect and it was so fresh. I checked the ingredient list right away and there were no preservatives or other chemicals, just pure simple ingredients you would have at home. Apparently, they won an award at the Midland Butter tart festival for their white chocolate raspberry tart.

I couldn’t believe I finally had the chance to try Carla’s award winning butter tarts. It’s available to order online or you can pick one up at the CNE Canadian National Exhibition until tomorrow. I forgot which building she was in but it’s near the Dufferin Avenue Entrance and Exit Gate and also near the BMO fields. Of course, their Pecan Butter Tarts were sold out by the time I got there. Darn it. Shout out to the very young brunette lady who took the time with me tonight in deciding which one to get. I ended up getting 2 tarts for $7 all in when paying in cash. They take other payment types too. Take a look at my pics and you will see those various payment types. I ending up getting the traditional Raisin Butter Tart and the Turtle Butter Tart which has caramel and pecans in it. The filling is gooey sweetness, and the thin crust compliments it. Balancing the overall taste of it. I like the fact her take out bag has the ingredients and calories listed on it. Looking at it her ingredients are simple as it can get and just the way I like it. I kept seeing ads for Carla's Cookie Box and finally decided to buy some of the butter tarts (I love butter tarts). I was a little worried with the weather being so very hot that they might be melty! They arrived in almost perfect condition and I immediately froze the lot (2 packs of 6). Just this week I had my first two tarts. They defrosted perfectly, and tasted amazing even after being frozen for a month! The crust is lovely and buttery and the tarts are pretty big, nice and deep with lots of delicious filling. I highly recommend these butter tarts from Carla's Cookie Box. You won't regret it.

Recently bought some butter tarts and brownies from Carla's Cookie Box and was very pleased with them. The pastry on the tarts was excellent, not too thick and not dry. There was ample and tasty filling which was enjoyed by all. I did not share the brownies but they were tasty and moist. I have the luck of being only 15 minutes away from Carla's Cookie Box location and will certainly purchase again.

My husband and I purchased the most delicious butter tarts from Carla’s vendor stall at the CNE. We haven’t had butter tarts in years, but they looked and tasted absolutely divine. The gentleman at the booth was also very helpful and a pleasure to converse with. We will certainly be purchasing them again.

Just received four boxes of tarts and finished one lol. They're excellent and you can taste that they've been made fresh and with high quality ingredients. Shipping info was a little confusing as the shipping company was initially saying they hadn't picked up the order while the company (bakery) had said they hadn't already shipped them. I found out this was because they had been sent to the distribution centre first. I will gladly order again and look forward to trying different products!

It's no wonder they are award-winning; they truly deserve the recognition. We live in Toronto, but we chose to celebrate our wedding in NYC. We wanted to share a Canadian specialty, which my American husband has come to love since his move to Toronto, with guests from all over the world. Since many of them had never tried butter tarts before, we were determined to serve them the absolute best Ontario has to offer. I wholeheartedly recommend Carla's butter tarts; they were perfect in every way—delicious and gorgeous! Carla was incredibly responsive and made sure our butter tarts arrived in NYC fresh, intact, and right on time for our event. Both our Canadian and international guests over-indulged and couldn't stop raving about their butter tart experience. We are immensely grateful to Carla and her team at Carla's Cookie Box for their contribution to making our wedding an unforgettable experience for all of us.
